There have been five people arrested and drugs worth €384k seized following several garda operations in Dublin and Louth today.
It begin with the search of two vans that were stopped by gardai in Swords as part of Operation Tara. The gardai from Ballymun Drugs Unit found cannabis worth €110,000 and seized it along with electronic devices and other drug related paraphernalia.
Two men in their 30s and a man in his 40s were arrested and taken to Ballymun garda station. A follow up search on a house in Finglas then led to a seizure of €38k worth of cannabis and saw a man and a woman in their 30s arrested and taken to Blanchardstown garda station.

Then cannabis with a value of around €200k was found in another follow up search, this time in an apartment in Dundalk, Co Louth. Investigations into the discoveries is ongoing.
Assistant Commissioner Angela Willis, Dublin Metropolitan Region said: "Tackling the supply of drugs to communities will continue to be a priority for Divisional Drug Units and all members of An Garda Síochána, working in partnership with local communities to keep people safe. This seizure of a substantial amount of illicit drugs along with paraphernalia utilised to facilitate its distribution is significant in that regard.”
The five persons arrested were detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 and remain in Garda custody in Ballymun and Blanchardstown Garda Stations. The operation was led by the Ballymun Divisional Drugs Unit assisted by the Ballymun Street Crime Unit, Detective Unit and Regular Units.
