The Liverpool City Region recorded falls in positive covid tests in five local government areas.
According to the latest data from Public Health England, it was the city region's five Merseyside areas that logged falls in cases.
The only non-Merseyside area of the city region - Halton - didn't record a rise or fall in cases in the week ending May 20.
In the city region as whole there were 1,182 cases in the week ending May 20. That's 261 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.

It meant that the week-on-week percentage change figure in the city region fell by 18%.
In Cheshire West and Chester, West Lancs, and Warrington, recorded falls in positive tests.
In England, the week-on-week percentage change figure fell by 14% in the week ending May 20.
Liverpool
Liverpool's positive tests came to 329 cases in the week ending May 20, which is 102 fewer cases than the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure went down by 24%. The latest infection rate was 65.7 cases per 100,000 people.
Wirral
Wirral's positive tests came to 270 cases in the week ending May 20, which is 26 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure went down by 9%. The latest infection rate was 83.2 cases per 100,000 people
Halton
There were 114 positive tests over the last week - that's neither more or fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change figure came in at 0% in Halton in the week ending May 20. The latest infection rate is 87.9 cases per 100,000 people.
St Helens
There was a total of 146 cases in the week ending May 20, which is 25 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in St Helens is 80.6 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure went down by 15%.
Knowsley
There was a total of 109 cases in the week ending May 20, which is 22 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in Knowsley is 71.5 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure went down by 17%.
Sefton
Sefton had a total of 214 cases in the week ending May 20, which is a 86 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate is 77.6 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases went down by 29% week on week.
Liverpool City Region
There were 1,182 positive tests over in the week ending May 20, which is 261 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change went down by 18%. The latest infection rate is 69.42 cases per 100,000 people.
Warrington
There were 157 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending May 20, which is 29 fewer cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure went down by 16%. There was an infection rate of 74.98 per 100,000 people.
Cheshire West and Chester
There were 299 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending May 20, which is 87 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate is 86.96 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage went down by 23% in cases.
West Lancs
There were 87 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending May 20, which is 10 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate in West Lancs is 75.99 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage went down by 10% in cases.
England
In the week ending May 20, England recorded 43,358 coronavirus cases, which is 6,899 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. The week-on-week percentage went down by 14% in England. There was an infection rate of 76.67 per 100,000 people.
