The data comes as consumer saving experts at Raisin UK investigated just how much it costs to run an air fryer as well as how much it can save people.
According to Raisin UK, on average, a typical low-cost air fryer will use around 900 watts and will take 20 minutes to cook your meal. And with the new price cap, 1kWh (1000 watts) will cost 28p meaning it would only cost you around 10p per meal.
It is important to note, however, that the price will vary from household to household depending on your tariff, your energy supplier and how often you use it.
Compared to cooking in an oven, which is one of the most expensive appliances in your kitchen, air fryers have the advantage of being more efficient. Using your oven for just an hour would cost you more than double at 28p!

Kevin Mountford, consumer savings expert and co-founder of Raisin UK has explained that air fryers are a great way to not only save time, but money too.
He said: “Whilst air fryers on the market can actually use a very similar amount to some ovens, it’s important to remember that air fryers save on time, and therefore save on money. Thanks to the small size of an air fryer and it’s energy efficiency, if you used it for your weekday meals and saved your oven for your larger meals, like Sunday roasts, you could see yourself saving at least £50 over the year on your bills.”
When investigating slow cookers, they also found that leaving a slow cooker on for eight hours would cost you approximately 92p under the new energy cap, whereas using an oven for four hours can cost you around £1.12.
Kevin Mountford added: “While slow cookers are normally on for longer than your traditional electric oven, it doesn’t mean you’ll be spending more on electricity as slow cookers use far less energy. Slow cookers have the advantage of being more efficient, with food cooked on a lower power over a number of hours.”
