The annual Future of Fashion Runway Show presented by Macy’s at FIT showcased the talent of 73 students from the class of 2024 Fashion Design BFA program. The event, held at The Glasshouse in New York City, featured 82 runway looks across childrenswear, intimate apparel, knitwear, special occasion, and sportswear categories.
The jury, including renowned designers and FIT alumni, selected winners in each category. Standout collections included Madeline Hausner's vintage-inspired sportswear and Stephanie She's whimsical childrenswear designs.
The show also highlighted the expertise of FIT students in intimate apparel, with designers like Ryan DePaolo and Sofie Hultbom showcasing industry-ready craftsmanship and innovative concepts.
The evening continued with FIT's annual fundraising gala, honoring industry influencers. Rebecca Hessel Cohen received the Entrepreneurship Award for her brand LoveShackFancy, while Kenneth Cole was recognized with the Social Impact Award for his commitment to social justice in fashion.
The Outstanding Alumni award went to Norma Kamali, a trailblazer in the industry for over 60 years. Kamali's speech emphasized the importance of determination and adaptation in the ever-evolving world of fashion.
The event brought together industry leaders, designers, and activists, underscoring the impact of FIT's Fashion Design program on shaping the future of the fashion industry.
