Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida's Big Ben region before it tore across the Southeast. NBC News reported the Category 4 hurricane killed at least 42 people from Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas.
Helene weakened to a tropical depression but continued moving north, bringing "life-threatening" conditions with it. More than 3 million people have lost power across the region.
