It was an intense and down-to-the-wire opening game to kick off the NFL season. As promised, two of the best teams in the AFC with the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens brought their A-game to an early season tilt that provided plenty of excitement on a Thursday night. One player who made a name for himself in a big way was the Chiefs rookie first-round receiver Xavier Worthy.

The most explosive player in the 2024 NFL draft class, Worthy sure made sure to display his speed, given two of his three touches went for big-time touchdowns that ultimately won Kansas City the game. The first score showed Worthy’s agility and the benefits of his smaller frame as he burst through a hole on a sneaky reversal. The second touchdown showed off the raw speed that Worth possesses, blowing past a confused Ravens secondary for an easy score.
This game put the rest of the league on notice for the Chiefs’ new speedster. It’s likely the AFC West is seeing flashes of games past of Mahomes dialing up deep to future Hall of Famer Tyreek Hill. The Kansas City offense looks as dangerous as ever, and head coach Andy Reid is sure to dial up plays for his new offensive toy all season long.
