An emergency service worker who helped victims at the scene of the Manchester Arena terror attack has been denied compensation.
It has been claimed an emergency service worker who helped victims at the scene and was later diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has been denied compensation by the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA). The explosion on May 22 2017 killed 22 people and left hundreds of others with lifechanging injuries.
Over 800 claims have been made to the CICA, responsible for making awards to victims of crime and terror attacks, since the incident. But a Freedom of Information request submitted by Hudgell Solicitors showed of 741 applications for physical and mental injuries, 331 have not resulted in a financial award.
