A woman found dead at a plush apartment complex in Hamilton has been identified.
Darrell Buchanan was discovered in a property in Hamilton Park North, near the town's racecourse, at 8.10am on Saturday, February 18.
Walter Buchanan appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court charged with the murder of the 37-year-old mother.
The 64-year-old made no plea during the private hearing on Monday, February 27.
He was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear within the next eight days.
The case was committed for further examination by prosecutors.
Locals reported seeing a heavy police presence in the area in the days following the grim discovery.
One resident told the Daily Record: "CID officers have been knocking on our doors.
"We woke up to police in the street. There were plain clothed officers stationed inside the flat block.
"There have been police everywhere, it's very worrying. This is a nice area."
