The couple who died in a serious car crash in Argyll on Friday have been named by police as Martin and Josephine Cousland.
Martin, 70, and Josephine, 69 – better known as Jo to pals – were fatally injured when their red Audi Q2 and a grey Ford Mondeo collided on the A85 between Arrivain and Dalmally on Friday March 31. The couple, who lived in Anstruther in Fife, were pronounced dead at the scene following the crash at about 2pm.
Their relatives have been informed, and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal. Police are continuing to make enquiries.
The three male occupants of the Ford Mondeo were taken to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where they remain for treatment. Medical staff describe their condition as stable.
Sergeant Archie McGuirel, of Police Scotland's Roads Policing Unit in Campbeltown, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr and Mrs Cousland.
"We are continuing our enquiries and would again appeal to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the crash to get in touch with police.
“I would also ask anyone who was travelling in the area who may have dash-cam footage which could assist to get in touch.”
