First picture of man who died in horror crash on Scots road as tributes paid to 'one of a kind'

Tributes have been paid to a 'one of a kind' Scot after he died in a horror crash on a Scots road.

Stewart Ramsay passed away when his silver Ford Fusion car left the A68, near St Boswells in the Scottish Borders, at around 8.15pm on Friday, February 4.

Emergency services scrambled to the road but Stewart was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

The 27-year-old's death has left his friends and family totally heartbroken.

Tributes have flooded in following the devastating news.

Marnie Stewart led the tributes on Facebook.

She said: "Can’t believe you are gone. You will be missed by everyone who’s heart you have touched.

"Rest in peace Stewart. Love you now and always."

Craig Alastair Kirk said: "Gutted! You were one of a kind mate…miss you.

"You won’t ever be forgotten."

Caroline Scott said: "Absolutely gutted. Lovely lad."

Josh Tracey said: "RIP mate, its a sin," while Sharon Szkudro added: "So sad, lovely lad."

Meanwhile Stewart's partner Steph Pender changed her profile picture to an image of Stewart holding two young girls.

Stacey Hogarth said: "I'm so so sorry. Stewart was a lovely person, I will cherish the memories from primary school."

Dale Grattan said: "Thinking of you all Steph, RIP Rambo."

Kirsty Clark added: "Sending you and the girls lots of love, so so sorry, thinking of you all."

Police are appealing for information following the horror incident.

The road was closed for around seven hours while investigations were carried out before it re-opened at around at 3.40am today.

Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened and we are appealing to anyone who may have information that could help to get in touch.

“In particular we are asking for those driving in the area around the time of the crash to get in touch. If you have dash-cam footage that could assist then please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3311 of Friday, February 4.
