A man who died after being found seriously injured at a property in Bellshill has been named locally as Sammy Hamilton.
The Celtic fan was tragically pronounced dead at the scene in Thorndean Avenue after police were called at around 11.30pm on Wednesday.
The 56-year-old’s passing is currently being treated as ‘unexplained’ by officers who remain in attendance at the property.
We earlier told how neighbours heard “shouting, arguing and screaming” before a 999 police response arrived in the street.
One woman said: “I was in bed about to drift off to sleep and then I heard men shouting and arguing with each other.
“They shouted back and forth very briefly then I heard men screaming loudly. It was really piercing and really loud.
“After that, there were just sirens and the whole street was taped off.
