Mathew Street is ready to welcome its newest venue, Scruffy Murphys 2.
A year after Scruffy Murphys initial launch on Harrington Street, the company behind the American/Irish-themed bar, Harrison's Bar Group, are ready to kick open the doors to another.
Located in the former 80s Tube Bar unit, the new venue acts as a sequel to the first, adopting the name Scruffy Murphys 2. The bar builds on the already-established atmosphere from its sister site and hopes to breathe a new lease of life into that area of Mathew Street.

Live music and sports broadcasts, along with open mic nights and karaoke, will carry over into the new venue to follow the Scruffy Murphys style.
Sports fans will be able to watch major events on the new venue’s big 18 live screens or take a break playing pool.
Broadcasts are rostered each week to attract a wide demographic from football and boxing to rugby so fans can be entertained all year round.
Nicola Halton, business development manager for Harrison’s Bar Group, said: "It has been a busy couple of months fitting out the new site and we are now counting down the days until we can open the doors.
Fans of the original Scruffy Murphys on Harrington Street will see the same theme and fit out here in the new Mathew Street site.
"We have worked, once again, with the very talented Paul Curtis and this time he has painted Elvis and Katie Taylor. This new location is very special as it is on possibly the most iconic music-based street on the planet, and we feel honoured to be a part of that legacy.”
Opening times include: Thursday - Sunday: 12pm - 11pm and Friday - Saturday: 12pm - 3am.
Scruffy Murphys 2 launches Friday, July 14 at 5pm.
