Derry Girls has dropped the trailer for its final series - just in time for St. Patrick's Day.
The final season of the popular Channel 4 show will see Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), Orla (Louisa Harland),Clare (Nicola Coughlan), Michelle (Jamie-Lee O’Donnell) and James (Dylan Llewellyn) cause havoc for everyone as they prepare for their GCSEs.
The show is set in Derry in the 1990s, as the teens try to navigate their coming-of-age, all whilst The Troubles are happening. In the second season, as there started to be some peace in the outside world, things heated up for the group of friends as they desperately tried to find a way to navigate their friendships, love lives and much more.
In the third - and final - season, the Troubles may be starting to ease - but Channel 4 have promised there are more troubles ahead, this time for the girls, James and their schoolmates.
"While there’s hope in the air that The Troubles may finally be over, their troubles are only just getting started as they get ever closer to 'adulthood,'" an official synopsis for the show has revealed.
In the trailer, there are meltdowns and even a mention of oppressive breathing, as the group try and navigate their final year of school as well as their busy - and sometimes turbulent - home lives.
Channel 4 have yet to reveal a date for the show's return - but they promise it is coming soon.
The cast bid an emotional goodbye to their characters at the end of the year, with Bridgerton star Nicola explaining how much the show meant to her. She recently opened up about struggling to make ends meet before she landed the show.
"The fear of having nothing is still there," Nicola confessed, "I was in debt with student loans, I was working minimum wage and the rent was so high. I only got Derry Girls five years ago so it's not that long since I've been able to go and buy a coffee and not have a panic attack. So I reckon I'll have a few more years of thinking 'I hope I have some money in my bank account.'"
As the filming for the final series wrapped, Nicola penned: "Goodbye Derry Girls, it’s been quite a ride," whilst her co-star Siobhan McSweeney, who plays Sister Michael, wrote in her own message to her character: "oodbye you mad woman. You’ve changed my life. I know you’d hate to hear this, but I love you."
Fans were devastated and urged the show to return - or for there to be a spin-off for Sister Michael.
