Kansas City Chiefs CB Trent McDuffie is set to wear a new jersey number in 2023 and the team just shared a first glimpse of him in that uniform for the first time.
The former 2022 first-round draft pick wore No. 21 during his rookie season, but with Juan Thornhill’s departure this offseason, he decided to switch back to his college jersey number. The No. 22 has special meaning to McDuffie as it was the jersey worn by his brother, who tragically passed away almost nine years ago. McDuffie was actually assigned that jersey number in college at Washington without asking for it, which made it all the more special for him.
With the Chiefs’ media day arriving on Monday, McDuffie finally got a chance to pose in his new jersey for the first time. He’s been spotted on the sidelines wearing the number during the team’s OTAs, but this is the first time that he’s been seen wearing it with pads and a full uniform.
