First look at Chessington's epic new £17million Jumanji themed land and rollercoaster

Chessington World of Adventures has given a first look at its epic new themed land, and thrill-seekers are in for a wild ride.

The popular theme park has revealed plans for a £17million 'World of Jumanji' land, and now we've got a sneak peek as it's revealed the first concept imagery for the jungle inspired attraction.

Although the resort is keeping fairly tight-lipped about exactly what will be on offer, one of the images shows a giant Jaguar Shrine, which stands at 55ft tall. (Fans of the Sony film franchise may recognise it from the sequel Jumanji: Next Level starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan).

However, for adrenaline seekers it's what's around the statue that will likely appeal; a large green rollercoaster track.

Yep, there's going to be a new thrill ride at the park, and while we don't know many details yet, we can't wait to see what they have in store.

As for the rest of the land, the theme park is promising plenty of "wild rides, adventurous attractions and drama-filled experiences" with details expected to be revealed in the coming months.

There's no doubt they're pulling out all the stops for the huge new addition.

Now only will the £17million 'World of Jumanji' land be the single largest investment in the park's history, and it will also be the world's first themed land for the beloved Sony film franchise.

Judging by the images, theme park goers will be able to wander through a dense jungle-like setting with huge green plants, plenty of mist and no doubt a host of surprises along the way.

Sadly you won't be able to explore the jungle this summer, as the new land isn't due to open its doors until Spring 2023.

Still there's plenty to see and do if you've got a trip booked to the resort in the meantime. The theme park already boasts 40 rides and attractions, a zoo, two themed hotels and even glamping options.
