First look at Bobby Brazier's EastEnders debut as he teases emotional scenes ahead

Bobby Brazier will make his debut as Freddie Slater on EastEnders next week - and he's promised an emotional storyline ahead.

The 19-year-old actor is set to make his acting debut next week on the BBC One soap, as he takes on the role of Freddie, the son of Little Mo Slater. Freddie was last seen in Walford back in 2006 when he and Little Mo left for a new life away from the Square.

He will be back in scenes airing next week, and Bobby - who is the son of the late Jade Goody and Jeff Brazier - has teased some emotional scenes ahead for his character Freddie. Getting stuck straight into it, there is a huge storyline coming up, with Bobby describing it as one filled with "grief, anger and a lot of emotion" for his character.

Speaking to The Mirror and other press about the huge storyline, Bobby said: "I've been thrown in at the deep end! It was a huge moment for me. I had an emotional scene where I came into the café and I was like, 'I don't want any b******t no more, stop lying to me.' There was grief, there was anger, there was a lot of emotion, Freddie was overwhelmed.

"Before we filmed it I had prepped but I hadn't got into the emotions, over lunch I decided to lock myself in my dressing room and get the emotions of Freddie and really understand the emotions of the scene and I feel like I smashed it.

He added: "I was overwhelmed with emotion to the point where I was shaking."

Since he was announced to be joining the cast, Bobby has received a lot of support from his family and friends.

"People are really excited to see Freddie. I'm really excited for people to see him, I feel very supported. I feel like people want the best for me and the fact that I feel that off set makes me feel more comfortable on set and it means I can learn quicker and become a better actor which is what I'm here to do," he explained.

He also heaped praise on some of his co-stars, two in particular who have really supported him.

Bobby shared: "There's not a stand out person but everyone has made me feel so welcome to quickly. I feel really lucky because very early on I slid into a place of calmness and because of that I think it translates on screen.

"That is purely because of everyone around me making me feel so comfortable. I had Zoom calls before I came in and everyone was saying it's like a family and there's a lot of love and I felt it straight away when I came here.

"I want to give a special mention to Lacey [Turner, who plays Stacey Slater]. Lacey feels like home, she doesn't realise how beautiful and funny she is. But then I can say that about Emma [Barton, who plays Honey Mitchell], all of them."

*EastEnders airs Mondays through Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One.
