The eerie and abandoned set for Adele's ill-fated Las Vegas residency Caesars Palace residency has been seen for the first time since the singer postponed a number of shows at the 11th hour.
The Some One Like You singer, 33, left fans up in arms as she tearfully announced her highly anticipated Weekend with Adele wouldn't go ahead saying her show 'just ain't ready'.
The announcement came as her global following of fans had spent hundreds on flights and accommodation to fly to Sin City to see her perform - with many hours away from departing or others already en-route when the plug was pulled on her performances.
And although the hit maker has sited her crew catching Covid for the sudden cancellation other sources have speculated all was not well with rehearsals and tension over set design - as pictures emerged of the mammoth task to strip the stage of giant floating staircase.
Shots taken on January 5 show the huge structure nestled between rows of plants.
Another image shared on January 7 the Entertainment Manager at The Colosseum Caesars Palace, update fans in a Facebook post saying: "14 days. In my 8 years in the industry I have not seen a “load in” like it."
But just two weeks later, the staircase has been removed, with extensive lighting rigs hanging in its place and a raised platform in the centre of the stage.
Sources have since claimed the Easy On Me singer was in disagreement over set design, principally an onstage pool she was required to perform over during one of her numbers, which they claimed was the real reason for her sudden postponement.
An insider told The Sun: "When she saw the finished design, she refused to take part. Adele described the pool as a ''baggy old pond'' and refused, point blank, to stand in the middle of it.
"The intention was to fill it with water on the set as she was lifted up on a crane-type mechanism, creating the illusion she was floating on water."
It comes as country musician star Keith Urban, who is the husband of Nicole Kidman, has been pulled in to play weekends at Caesars Palace in late March and early April – when Adele had been scheduled to perform.
Fans have been quick to point out that given the venue’s programme of events, it is possible that the earliest she will be able to perform is 2023, prompting further speculation that it won't be rescheduled.
But taking to social media Adele promised a rescheduling would happen saying: “I just want to apologise and thank all those who have shown me their love and support.
"I am so blessed to have the best fans in the world. I promise I will be 100 per cent back.”
