First lady Jill Biden will use her remarks at the first night of the Democratic National Convention to call on Americans to support Vice President Kamala Harris’ bid for the presidency. She will urge unity 'with faith in each other, hope for a brighter future, and love for our country.'
Jill Biden's speech will also pay tribute to President Biden, highlighting his strength and character as only a spouse of nearly 50 years can do. The first night of the convention will showcase President Biden's accomplishments, but will also honor Jill Biden's work as first lady.
A video featuring key moments from her tenure as first lady and her core causes will introduce her. The video will include Vivian Wierwille of New Hampshire, who introduced Biden at an elementary school in March 2021 as schools reopened during the Covid pandemic.
