First half 2026 sees some 1 million new cases, mostly drug related, reaching first instance courts

The Court of First Instance received 1.11 million cases in the first half of 2026 with most filed in Pathum Thani province and most criminal cases concerning narcotics.

Suriyan Hongwilai, spokesman of the Court of Justice, said on Wednesday the number of new cases in the first half of the year rose from 1.05 million, recorded in the same period last year, by five percent.
