A south Dublin primary school has announced they will remain closed today due to "very heavy snow".
St Patrick's National School in Glencullen also added a video story on Facebook, showing the school and the footpaths covered in snow. The primary school is located close to the Dublin mountains, where it has been snowing intensely.
Met Eireann issued a nationwide status yellow warning for ice and snow, and some west and north counties even got that updated to status orange. According to national forecaster, "rain, sleet and snow will spread northwards across the country accompanied by strengthening winds."
They also said accumulations of snow are expected in many areas along with icy conditions, with sleet and snow will likely transition to rain in southern areas for a time. This could have some serious possible impacts such as hazardous driving conditions, travel disruption, as well as poor visibility.
