Announcing the news, his heartbroken family said: "He is predeceased by his loving mam Sharon and uncle Michael.

"He will be sadly missed by his loving dad Albert and Albert's brother and sisters, aunt Michelle, cousin Craig, his second family Gerry, Leeanne and Maria Nolan, his close friends Geena and Megan, relatives and a large circle of friends.

"May Jordan Rest In Peace."

Jordan's pals also paid tribute to the star, reports The Mirror, hailing him as "truly a fantastic and lovely human being" and a "beautiful person".

One wrote: "Tonight we hear the sad news of my friend Jordan Stunbar (Jordan Dunbar) passed away, always had something lovely to say when we saw each other. A young LGBT man who had a passion for style and hairdressing.

"Such a lovely genuine person. Rest in peace Jordo."

Jordan was hailed by friends and family as a 'truly fantastic and wonderful human being' (channel 4)

While another commented: "Really saddened to hear that an old friend from Dublin, Jordan Dunbar (or Stunbar, as he’s gone by for the better part of a decade) has passed away.

"Truly a fantastic and lovely human being who will be sorely missed."

A third wrote: "This just does not even feel right or real to be reading this. You will be missed Jordo.

"Hairdressing will never be the same without you or your crazy, creative, uniqueness, positive, sociable self. Rest in paradise pal."

Production company COCO Content, which makes first dates, also shared sadness at the news as bosses said in a statement: "Our hearts our broken with the death of Jordan Dunbar, such a talented and beautiful person.

"We first met him on First Dates and he went on to present My Yellow Brick Road on RTE. He was a joy to work with and it was a privilege to know him. Deepest sympathy to all who loved him."

RTE bosses added: "We are very sad to hear of the death of Jordan Dunbar. Jordan featured on First Dates Ireland and was also a presenter on the series My Yellow Brick Road.

"A wonderful talent, gone far too young. Our deepest sympathies to his loved ones."
