A First Dates Ireland contestant left viewers in stitches on Thursday night after she revealed her dad's reaction to her newfound hobby over lockdown.
Walking into the First Dates restaurant, Limerick woman Ellie said she loves going to the gym at least two or three times a week, but when lockdown hit, she had to take up a new form of exercise.
The 18-year-old looking for love was set up with Waterford DJ Cian, but it was in her chat with the barman before her date arrived that Ellie mentioned her impressive new hobby.
Speaking to barman Neil, Ellie explained that it was actually her mother who bought her the pole.
She said: "I got a workout trampoline. I got a pole. I got the lot.
"Do you want to know what? My mother was actually the one who got it for me.
"I'd be covered in bruises from it. Jesus, you'd be wrecked."
Revealing her father's hilarious reaction to seeing it in her room,
Ellie explained: "And then I had it up in my room, and my father walked in.
"He just walked in and was like, 'Jesus Christ'."
People instantly fell in love with Ellie's energetic personality as she said she 'loves the chat' and just wanted someone who could 'talk for Ireland'.
One person took to Twitter to praise the Limerick woman saying: "I love Ellie".
While a second said: "Ellie, you are a tonic...."
Others couldn't help but feel old watching the young couple on their date.
They said: "I feel so old watching Ellie and Cian".
"You need to find someone, Ellie, you're 18!!!," a second said.
Some eagle-eyed viewers even noticed that it wasn't Ellie's date Cian's first time to appear on an RTE show.
One commented: "Cian must have a contract with #rte to be on all there dating shows #pullingwithmyparents ".
Another said: "So Cian has given up on his Mum and Dad finding him a woman."
