First case of monkeypox confirmed in Northern Ireland

The first case of monkeypox has been confirmed in Northern Ireland.

It's understood the person is being treated in hospital for the disease and the NI Health Department will carry out a briefing later today.

There are now believed to be 79 cases of monkeypox in the UK as a whole, as the first case was also confirmed in Wales today.
