Firefighters were scrambled to a blaze at a listed church in north London on New Year's Day.
The fire ripped through part of the Parish Church of St John the Evangelist, a Grade II* listed building, on Bourne Hill in Southgate.
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters attended after the alarm was raised at around 2pm.
The London Fire Brigade responded to the emergency within minutes of the first calls form the public.
The extent of the damage is being assessed.
The Parish Church of St. John the Evangelist was given listed status in 1974.
Listed buildings are recognised for their architectural, historical, and cultural significance.
The cause of the fire has yet to be confirmed.
A London Fire Brigade statement said: "Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a fire at a church on Bourne Hill in Southgate.
"A small part of the church was alight. There were no reports of any injuries.
"The Brigade was called at 1358 and the fire was surrounded by 1502. Firefighters from Edmonton, Hornsey and Enfield fire stations attended the scene.
"The cause of the fire is under investigation."
