Firefighters were called after a blaze was started deliberately near an area of trees.
Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service (CFRS) were called to The Decks in Runcorn at 8.47pm on Tuesday (April 25). The fire involved wood and was believed to have been started deliberately.
A man who witnessed the fire from his flat in The Decks told the ECHO he saw a group of five 'kids' standing around. He said the flames grew to a height of around 10 feet.

One engine from Runcorn attended the fire and it was put out with a hose reel.
CFRS said: "A bonfire situated at the back of The Decks in Runcorn was attended by firefighters, who extinguished it with a hose reel. The fire involved wood and is believed to have been deliberately set on fire so police were informed."
The man who witnessed the fire told the ECHO: "It seems to be happening more and more with kids around Runcorn. It needs to be stopped or someone will be hurt.”
On Tuesday, the ECHO reported that an abandoned Runcorn building was set alight for the seventh time in less than a year. The most recent blaze at the abandoned terrace on Trinity Street, was reported at 6.04pm on Monday.
CFRS said a suitcase had been set alight, prompting the crew to extinguish the flames. A CFRS spokesperson said crews have tackled nine blazes on Trinity Street since August, with seven of those at the “abandoned construction site”.
