Leeds Grand Theatre was evacuated last night with firefighters rushing to the city centre venue.
Hundreds of audience members were filmed standing outside on New Briggate while West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew members stormed into the building at about 9pm yesterday (July 2).
Former BT Sport presenter Jake Humphrey was presenting a live audience recording of his High Performance podcast at the Leeds theatre at the time. The presenter filmed the situation outside the venue, after the audience appeared to be told to stand outside during the intermission.

Jake posted the footage on Twitter, he said: "Not a planned part of the live High Performance show at Leeds Grand…Thankfully all ok. Thanks the fire brigade for their swift response x [sic]."
The footage panned across the audience members and showed the firefighters entering the building. Later, the audience could be seen cheering when Jake announced the second half would be going ahead in the theatre.
Leeds Grand Theatre, owned by Leeds Heritage Theatres, and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have been asked for a comment.
