Firefighters remain at the scene of a fire which broke out yesterday (June 9) on Marsden Moor.
Crews from 13 fire stations were initially called to the blaze on the moor which crosses between Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire. Dramatic pictures were released of firefighters tackling heavy smoke to get the blaze under control.
Fires on the moor, just east of Saddleworth, have become a regular site in recent months, especially in times of warm weather. The fire at its peak yesterday measured more than 200 square metres.
