A firefighter has spoken out on her struggles with an invisible illness that affects every aspect of her life - from work to dating.
Catherine Hopkins was just 27 when she started experiencing symptoms including chronic fatigue, stomach pain and swollen joints.
She was also passing blood every time she went to the bathroom - but was too embarrassed to seek medical help over it, Manchester Evening News reports.
