Firebugs in Johnstone torch storage shelter containing four motorbikes

Firebugs struck in the early hours of this morning to set alight a storage shelter containing four motorbikes, say police.

Police in Johnstone are treating the incident as an act of wilful fireraising and have appealed for information relating to the crime.

The blaze took place at a property on Nith Place near Milliken Park railway station, around 1.15am on Tuesday, February 14.

The storage shelter contained two Harley Davidson and two BSA motorbikes, all four were damaged as a result of the fire.

Detective Constable Gary Bruce, from Paisley CID, said: “We’re appealing for anyone with any information on this deliberate fireraising to come forward.

“Or if you were in the Nith Place area around the time of the incident and believe you may have seen anything suspicious, we would also like to hear from you.”

Police are asking anyone with information relating to the incident to call them on 101, quoting the number 0205 of 14 February, 2023.
