A new takeaway promising to produce 'designer' pizza in 180 seconds is gearing up to open in Ayrshire.
Fireaway is due to open in Kilmarnock in January with the ambitions of bringing ultra-quick pizza to foodies in three minutes.
The takeaway will be based on John Finnie Street with work well underway to transform the unit.
The Fireaway brand is part of a franchise model and claims to be the fastest-growing pizza chain in the UK.
Last January the firm celebrated opening its 100th store after starting out in 2016.
Founder Mario Aleppo reportedly started the chain with just a bank loan, a store and an employee.
Fireaway's website reads: "Even though it began with one store, it has become the famous award-winning chain of stores.
"The Mitcham-born founder had the vision of a Subway-style pizzeria. He believed in delivering fresh, homemade, and infinitely customizable pizza.
"His vision is similar to how some sandwich outlets allow customers to choose different bases, cheese, meats, and toppings. And despite the various combinations, the prize remains the same. That is why you will find the tag 'Designer Pizza in 180 seconds!' in front of their stores.
"So, it doesn’t matter the kind of pizza you want. Fireaway is committed to satisfying your cravings in a few minutes. The work rate is just exceptional!"
A handful of Fireaway's pizzerias have been opened in Scotland with branches in Glasgow, Clarkston, East Kilbride, Cumbernauld, Bathgate, Falkirk and Aberdeen. The Kilmarnock branch is the first one to open in Ayrshire.
The website's blurb reads: "With fresh toppings, hand made dough and a 400-degree fire oven not only is it authentic but it’s fast – around 180 seconds!
"When my Nonna came over from the Amalfi Coast of Italy in the 1950s she brought a pizza recipe that Fireaway Pizza has been spreading through the streets of London since 2016.
"We have tweaked our menu to include Oreo milkshakes, Nutella pizzas and Vegan options so we have something for everyone.
"Five years later and we have gone from one London shop to over 120 branches across the country including Scotland and Wales."
