Fire TV Stick users offered Sky television-style upgrade at a much cheaper price

If you own a Fire TV Stick then now is a good time to add an upgrade to it. Amazon launched its Sky-style Pro remote controller last year with this improved channel changer offering an abundance of features such as backlit keys which glow when the lights go down so you know what numbers you are punching.

Just like on Sky Q, there's also the option to track it down should it slip under the sofa thanks to an in-built alarm which belts out a very loud sound.

Another bonus of the Pro remote is two new customisable buttons which make getting to favourite content and Alexa commands quicker and easier. Owners can personalise their system by programming these buttons to create one-touch shortcuts to things such as favourite apps and TV channels.

For example, it's possible to choose to program a button to have Alexa dim the lights, check the weather, or start an Alexa Routine for movie night.

Finally, there's a dedicated button to help connect to Bluetooth headphones without digging into endless settings.

At launch, the Pro remote cost a pretty hefty £34.99 but that price has now been slashed to just £27.99 making it much more affordable.

Along with that nifty channel changer getting a price cut, Amazon has also slashed the cost of its most premium streaming device with the Fire TV Stick 4K Max now dropped to £38.99 - saving a whopping 40%.

For those not already aware, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max sits at the top of the range with it not only featuring much faster processing power but also Wi-Fi 6 technology for smooth and speedy streaming. Wi-Fi 6 also offers a more reliable signal which should mean less chance of things coming to a stuttery end.

As the name suggests, this device offers pin-sharp 4K boxset binging plus there’s support for Dolby Vision, HDR, HDR10+ and immersive Dolby Atmos audio.

The device ships with a standard Alexa voice remote (not the Pro remote mentioned above) which makes it easy to find content, pause shows and launch apps via speech commands.

Owners are also treated to Amazon’s Picture-in-picture technology which lets them see who has rung the Ring doorbell without it interrupting what’s being shown on the screen.
