Fire service update after 'huge damage' caused during major blaze to home in Arnold

An investigation is continuing after a family had to be rescued from a house fire in Nottinghamshire.

Firefighters were called to a huge blaze at the property in Bailey Close, Daybrook, Arnold, on February 19.

Crews across the county attended, rescuing the members of the family inside the house and getting the fire under control.

An investigation looking into the incident took place on Monday, February 21, the fire and rescue service reports.

But the cause of the fire was undetermined due to the huge damage to the property.

Group Manager Jonathan Holford said: “I would like to praise the response of our crews from across the county who got the fire under control and out quickly.

“Thankfully all the family escaped the house uninjured. We would like to remind people to test their smoke alarms regularly and have an escape plan in the event of a fire.”
