Firefighters were called to the Cornerhouse in Nottingham over reports of 'smoke issuing' from the building. Six fire engines were called out to the incident on Tuesday morning (February 14).
But in an update, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the incident was a false alarm. A spokeswoman said: "It was a false alarm. Luckily it was heavily smoke-clogged - but we believe it was caused by a false alarm, possibly by a smoke cloak."
Earlier on Tuesday morning, the fire service said there had been reports of 'smoke issuing' from the building - though the exact details of where the smoke was coming from in the building remains unclear. Some disruption was reported on roads surrounding the Cornerhouse.

A couple of fire engines remain at the scene but the fire service says the incident is being scaled down. The A6008 South Sherwood Street and Burton Street were both partially blocked.
The Cornerhouse, a multi-use entertainment complex, is home to a number of high street restaurants, as well as Cineworld and The Lost City Adventure Golf. The complex was built on the site of the former Nottingham Post offices.
