Police have discovered a cannabis farm following a fire on a Scots street.
Emergency services were called to Queen Anne Street in Dunfermline, Fife, after the alarm was raised at around 1.05pm on Sunday. Officers launched a probe after a blaze broke out at a property on the street.
The area was cordoned off before forensic officers were pictured combing the scene on Monday morning. Police have now confirmed an investigation is underway following the discovery of a cannabis cultivation at the site. Their enquiries are ongoing.
Fire crews confirmed they sent four appliances to the scene and there were no reported casualties.
A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: “An investigation is underway following the discovery of a cannabis cultivation site in Queen Anne Street, Dunfermline. Police were notified around 1.05pm on Sunday, December 18, when a fire broke out at the property.
"The fire was dealt with by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. Police remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 12.50pm on Sunday, December 18 to reports of a fire affecting a three-storey building at Queen Anne Street, Dunfermline.
"Operations Control mobilised four appliances and a height vehicle to the scene to extinguish the fire. There were no reported casualties."
