The fire that destroyed a route 522 airconditioned bus in Nonthaburi on Monday night was started by an overheated brake on a rear right wheel, according to a statement released by the city bus operator.

The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA)  said on Tuesday an inspection of the fire gutted bus found that a brake system failure caused the brakes to stick and overheat.
