A badly fire damaged property has come on the market in Merseyside that is essentially an empty shell of a building.
The Grade II listed detached house was gutted by fire back in March 2014, in an incident that police treated as an arson attack. Firefighters needed to tackle the blaze, in the two storey building, for more than 10 hours.
The fire was so intense that the roof collapsed and while damage inside the building was 'severe' , thankfully no one was hurt. The property, in Birkenhead, was undergoing renovation at the time of the fire and has not been used since.

However now the Georgian style house is now listed for sale at public auction. While the property will undoubtedly need a lot of work to make it safe and liveable, it has many highlights.
The home is described as being perfect for those looking for development opportunities, as it has potential to be converted into flats or kept as a large house. Planning permission has already been granted for the restoration of the existing building, meaning it could be transformed into six two-bedroom flats or an 11 bedroom house.
Other highlights include the large plot of land surrounding the property that could be landscaped into beautiful gardens. Due to its location of Rock Park, in Birkenhead, it boasts incredible uninterrupted views over the estuary and it sits within a designated conservation area.
The property and plot of land is up for auction, so there’s no saying how much it will eventually sell for. However a guide price has been set by Sutton Kersh of £100,000.
Properties in Birkenhead had an overall average price of £141,908 over the last year. The majority of sales in Birkenhead during the last year were terraced properties, selling for an average price of £104,953. Semi-detached properties sold for an average of £178,878, with flats fetching £88,749.
Overall, sold prices in Birkenhead over the last year were 27% up on the previous year and 18% up on the 2019 peak of £120,514. The property forms part of a Private Residential Park situated on the west bank of the River Mersey and Birkenhead town centre is approximately 2.5 miles away.
The Sutton Kersh listing reads: "A substantial Georgian Style Grade II detached property set back in its own grounds with views over the estuary and within a designated conservation area. The premises is in poor condition and has suffered from severe fire damage throughout and would be suitable for a variety of uses.
"The property comes with the benefit of planning permission for restoration of the existing building and conversion into bedroomed flats. The property forms part of a Private Residential Park situated on the west bank of the River Mersey. Birkenhead town centre is approximately 2.5 miles away."
