Crews from Avon Fire and Rescue Service were called out to a blaze on a second-floor flat in Clifton earlier this morning (April 24). The incident was first reported at around 7.08am this morning, and crews from Temple and Southmead were deployed to an address on Queens Road on the Triangle.
They added that they managed to successfully put the fire out with the help of a high pressure hose and a jet. After doing so, gas monitors and thermal imaging cameras were used to scan the building for hotspots and to ensure there was no danger of reignition.
They believe that the cause of the fire was accidental, adding that no injuries were reported in the incident. At the time, two lanes were closed on the A4018, Queens Road eastbound, from the B3129 to Berkley Avenue whilst the fire was being put out.

As a result, there were some delays in the area for a short period of time. A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to reports of a fire in a flat on Queens Road, Clifton at 7:08am this morning.
"Crews from Temple and Southmead attended the incident and found a fire in the kitchen of a second floor flat.
"Firefighters used one high pressure hoses and one jet to extinguish the blaze. Crews also used ventilation fans to remove smoke from the building as well as gas monitors and thermal imaging cameras to ensue the property was safe.
"The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental. We're pleased to confirm no persons were injured."
