People are posting videos of themselves dancing on social media in solidarity with Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin, after clips of her partying with friends were leaked.
The Prime Minister was met with criticism from some, but others have lauded her for having fun outside of work like a regular person in their 30s.
Ms Marin, now 36, became the world's youngest serving government leader in December 2019.
Videos weren't supposed to be public
Ms Marin said the video was a compilation of clips from a few weeks ago, saying she didn't have any government meetings on that weekend.
"I had some time off and I spent it with my friends," she said.
"And I didn't do anything illegal."
She said she knew she was being filmed at the time, but never thought the videos would become public and didn't know who had leaked them.
The clips were originally posted to a private Instagram account.
"These videos are private and filmed in a private space," Ms Marin said.
"I resent that these became known to the public."
Copping criticism
Some said the situation raised questions about Ms Marin's judgement.
"Marin may have acted in good faith, but this gullible she should not be," one of Finland's biggest newspapers wrote in an editorial.
"The Prime Minister can, in a sensitive situation, put the weapons of information warfare in the hands of those who would like to hurt Finland."
Some Finnish citizens agreed, with saying state leaders should be held to a "higher standard".
"Not just, you know, what's legal, but also what is respectable, what is admirable … what is honourable," Joshua Fagahom said.
Solidarity with Sanna
Others praised Ms Marin for having a healthy work-life balance.
"She has made a first-class job … what she's doing in her free time, that's not our business," Jori Korkman said.
"Everyone has the right to have a good time," Pyry Jantahuhta said.
ALT, a Danish women's magazine, posted what it called a "sympathy leak" of videos of staff dancing in what it said was an act of solidarity with Ms Marin.
The magazine's Instagram post said hitting the dance floor on the weekend didn't make people bad at their jobs.
The hashtag #SolidarityWithSanna began gaining traction as people from other countries joined in:
PM takes drug test
Ms Marin said she drank alcohol with her friends but, to her knowledge, no one took drugs at the event.
"Never in my life have I used drugs," she told a news conference.
Ms Marin said her ability to perform her official duties had remained unimpaired and she would have left the party had she been required to work.
She said calls from other MPs urging her to take a drug test were unjust, but agreed to take one "for my own legal protection and to clear up any doubts".
Her office later posted a statement confirming she had tested negative.
Editor's note, 24/8/2022: An earlier version of this story said it was Finnish women posting videos. It has been changed to reflect the fact it was Danish women.
