A fringe commentator who posts under the nom de plume Aussie Cossack has been disqualified from driving and fined more than $2500.
Simeon Boikov was convicted in absentia of five offences after failing to appear in Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday.
All but one offence was committed when the Breakfast Point man drove past NSW Parliament House the day then-premier Gladys Berejiklian resigned from office.
At the time - October 2021 - Sydney was in a city-wide COVID-19 lockdown.
Boikov beeped his car horn unnecessarily, used his mobile phone and had part of his body outside the car, deputy chief magistrate Sharon Freund found.
Footage of his arrest, posted online by Boikov, shows him standing with his torso outside the driver-side front window of his car as a police officer approaches.
The car was topped with a large Australian Red Ensign and carried the plates "ATAMAN".
"Gladys (Berejiklian) has resigned, we're celebrating the resignation of the premier," he said in the October 1 video.
The 32-year-old was also found to have driven with an unsecured load in August 2021.
As well as fining him a total of $2560 for the five offences, Ms Freund disqualified Boikov from driving for three months for the mobile phone offence.
After he missed his own court matter on Tuesday, Boikov attended the courthouse on Wednesday and hassled journalists about their coverage of a TikTok comedian's sentence.
The journalists should have been covering "corrupt politicians" instead, he said.
Boikov was also in court on Wednesday defending charges related to repeated alleged failures to check-in during the pandemic.
