YouTuber Harrison Nevel thought he had landed the deal of a lifetime when he purchased a former Adidas employee's storage unit for £1,740 ($2,210) and discovered more than £93,000 ($125,000) worth of products inside, including unreleased shoes and apparel. But the windfall quickly turned into a controversy after the haul went viral; the former owner later contacted Nevel to say Adidas wanted the products returned, sparking a debate over who legally owns the merchandise.
Nevel has indicated he is willing to return the items but expects compensation in exchange. In a recent social media post, he said he hopes to reach an agreement with Adidas, noting that he has previously partnered with the sportswear giant. Adidas has not publicly addressed the situation.
