We’re closing in on kickoff between the New Orleans Saints (6-7) and New York Giants (5-8) on Sunday, but how do you see this one turning out? Can the Saints hold their own against an opponent riding a three-game win streak? Or will they play down to their level of competition? Are these teams that far apart after all, despite their records?
Here are our staff picks and final score predictions going into Week 15’s game:
Giants 21, Saints 17
The Saints haven’t inspired confidence over the past month of action. The Saints offense has continued to struggle, and Tommy DeVito has the mobility to exploit New Orleans’ difficulties against quarterback runs. Another poor first half will cost the Saints in this game. — Darrion Gray
Saints 24, Giants 21
The Saints have struggled to produce offense this season in its entirety, that’s for certain. On the other side, the Giants have allowed 21 or more points in eight games this season, five of which they allowed 30-plus points. If the Saints offense is going to find a rhythm, it will be this week, and I believe they will somewhat resemble an NFL offense this week. Defense will end up ruling the day for both teams regardless, and the Saints will presumably be favored in that regard. — Jeremy Trottier
Saints 20, Giants 14
I think it’ll be another frustrating watch against a team the Saints should beat, but will stay in the game with for far too long. It really could go either way, but I believe that playing at home will give them just that extra little edge to pull of a “grind it out game.” While fans may want the Saints to lose out, there are plenty of people on the team will try their hardest to make the playoffs. — Dylan Sanders
Giants 17, Saints 16
The Giants went into their bye week on a two-game win streak, though one victory (31-19 over the Washington Commanders) was prettier than the other (a 10-7 slog against the New England Patriots). New York’s defense has only allowed fewer than 20 points to four of their last seven opponents with the Green Bay Packers managing just 22 points in a loss last Monday night. The Saints can beat the Giants if they protect the football, but this game looks like a bad matchup for Derek Carr and their blitz-heavy defense. — John Sigler
