Bolton Wanderers B team picked up their first win in the Central League Cup with a 2-1 victory over Lincoln City.
The cup clash - a two o'clock kick off at Lostock - was Wanderers' second match in the competition. Matt Craddock's side narrowly lost their Group A opener to Huddersfield but bounced back in the second of five group stage games. Bolton fielded a fairly strong side and led at the half-way stage courtesy of Connor Stanley - who converted on the rebound after seeing his initial effort strike the crossbar. Positive work from Conor Carty in the build-up has presented Stanley with the chance to shoot.
Just before the hour mark, Matty Grivosti doubled the hosts' advantage as Lloyd Isgrove picked him out - following a pinpoint pass over the top of the Imps' defence from Adam Senior. Wanderers were given a late scare when Jordon Garrick pulled one back for the away side, but Bolton saw the win over the line.
Lamine Toure was down to start the game for Craddock's men, but pulled out during the warm-up. Matthew Tweedley came into the starting XI and Joel Burgess made the bench. Luke Hutchinson, Danny Jones and Burgess were unused substitutes, with Eric Yoro brought on at half time and Max Conway playing the final five minutes.
Bolton Wanderers B starting XI: Dixon; Senior, Toal (Yoro), Tutte; Isgrove, Tweedley, Khumbeni, Beck; Stanley; Grivosti (Conway), Carty.
