Buying Final Fantasy VII Revelation on disc won't be enough to actually play it.

Square Enix has confirmed that the physical PS5 and Xbox Series X|S editions require an internet connection to download additional game data before the game can be launched. Both versions ship on a single disc. (VGC) The Nintendo Switch 2 version goes further still — it's a Game-Key Card, meaning the actual game data has to be downloaded on first launch, with Square Enix listing a minimum of 130 GB of free storage required.
