Waiting for Part 2 of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake can be agonizing, though Square Enix might soon give us some fresh details.
A report by Video Games Chronicle (VGC) states that during a livestream celebrating the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy 7, producer Yoshinori Kitase claims that more info on Part 2 is (hopefully) coming soon.
“We are hard at work on Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis, so please look forward to that. In addition, with regards to the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake [Part 2] there will be more information this year if we can,” Kitase said via VGC. “We just started the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy 7, so we want to celebrate and get fans excited, so within the next 12 months we want to share some information.”
Despite the remake’s popularity, many fans still hold the 1997 original in higher regard, with some even implementing classic cameras for that old-school JRPG feel.

Part 2 of Final Fantasy 7 Remake remains a mystery, and Kitase’s comments don’t illuminate much. He may be keeping things close to the chest because Final Fantasy 7 Remake was announced in 2015, and Part 1 didn’t come out until 2020. Delays often lead to greatness, though.
