Film show: Sean Baker explores the moral gray ground through a washed-up porn star

ENCORE! © FRANCE 24

Film critic Lisa Nesselson speaks to Eve Jackson about the week's film news, including "Red Rocket", the story of a washed-up porn star from indie powerhouse director Sean Baker. He's known for his movies about the often impoverished members of the American underclass. Baker's film "Tangerine", shot on an iPhone, centered on Black transgender sex workers, while Oscar nominee "The Florida Project" offered a look at life living in a motel.

We also discuss "Petite Solange", about a 13-year-old French girl who unravels when her parents split up, as well as English writer-director Joanna Hogg's "The Souvenir" and "The Souvenir Part 2". They are two semi-autobiographical films starring Tilda Swinton's daughter, Honor Swinton Byrne, as a young woman whose older boyfriend is a posh drug addict.
