LUCKNOW: With unemployment becoming a major issue in the recently held Uttar Pradesh elections, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday instructed senior officials to instantly start working on filling up vacant positions in various government departments.
In the first meeting after the swearing-in ceremony with heads of various government departments, boards and corporations, Yogi asked all of them to start compiling a list which covers the vacant positions in their units and float employment opportunities as per the urgency of the positions.
“The process of filling up the positions in the government machinery shall be initiated at the earliest. All departments need to work in tandem and a comprehensive plan in this direction has to be prepared,” said Yogi.
The selection process will be done purely on the basis of merit while acknowledging the efforts of senior officials in improving the procedure being followed by the state government in hiring employees over the past five years.
In its manifesto, the BJP had promised to create and offer 5 lakh government jobs in the second term. Yogi also asked the group of officials to find out the vacancies existing in the various wings of the police department and begin the work of floating the vacancies.
Special focus will be paid on inducting women personnel and the CM asked officials to give them field postings particularly in the rural area.
It should be noted that the Yogi government managed to leave behind a positive impression on the women population residing in the villages about their security.
“Posting of more female police personnel on the ground will further boost the image of the Yogi government towards women security,” said an IPS officer from the recruitment board of the department.
