Filip Benkovic is beginning to display some of the form he displayed at Celtic over in Germany - but he's had to pay some consequences in a head collision with former Hoops midfielder Jackson Irvine.
The Croatian defender is currently playing in the second tier of German football with Eintracht Braunchsweig, on loan at the 2. Bundesliga club following a couple of senior appearances in Italy for Udinese. His latest match saw him take on St Pauli and there was a sickening collision just 10 minutes into proceedings.
Benkovic thundered into a challenge with the Australian international, who came through the youth ranks at Celtic before leaving in 2015 to permanently join Ross County. It left the Croatian defender with a bloody cut while his midfield foe was unable to continue as his side ran out 2-1 winners.

It was his fifth appearance of the league season, which despite not keeping a clean sheet, sees Benkovic's team unbeaten.
He said on Instagram alongside an accompanying photo of his bandage and wound: "God Strength. Never stop fighting #new tattoo."
The 25-year-old was a £13million signing for Leicester City back in 2018, but didn't make one league appearance. He spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Celtic Park, forming part of a side that won the treble treble.
