More than a fifth of Brits are now behind with at least one household bill it is estimated, as the cost of living crisis hits the country, a charity has said.
The worsening situation is seen in that the latest figure of 21% of adults yet to pay a pending bill is compared to 15% last March who were behind, according to the Money Advice Trust.
Among those receiving means-tested benefits, 45% said they are behind with at least one bill.
