The offside rule is set to be changed once again, with a new adaptation to change which part of the body is deemed as being onside - a move which is set to divide opinion.
Arsene Wenger has made the proposal, with his role as FIFA's Chief of Global Football Development set to see the developments pushed through with the hope bringing clarity to the rule. Since the adoption of VAR, certain rules such as handball and offside have become increasingly controversial.
However, this fresh move is hoped to improve the rule, with the new interpretation of what part of the attackers body is judged to be offside. The new proposal would see the whole goal-scoring body of the player considered, this means that if any part of the body is behind the last defender, the attacker will remain onside.
