World Cup Phenoms, yet another new World Cup-themed promo, will launch in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team this week.
As the knockout stages of the 2022 World Cup continue, EA Sports is ramping up its themed promo releases, with the FIFA 23 World Cup Phenoms set to replace the World Cup Stories promo currently live in FUT 23. The World Cup Stories promo featured the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, celebrating the best players and moments from the World Cup group stages.
The World Cup Phenoms promo will be the fourth World Cup-themed promo that EA has released into Ultimate Team over the last month, with the Path to Glory, Road to the World Cup and World Cup Stories promos alongside a World Cup Swaps event having already been released. And, ahead of the official unveiling of the World Cup Phenoms, a couple of the players reportedly set to be included in the promo have been leaked on social media.
So, what could be included in the World Cup Phenoms promo? Here is everything we know about the upcoming release so far including the confirmed release date, leaks and more.

The card design for the promo was also confirmed on the loading screen, with light blue and purple the two main colours in a very nice-looking FUT card. Like every promo so far during the World Cup, we expect the promo to last one week, concluding on Friday, December 16, 2022 when another promo is expected to begin.

FIFA 23 World Cup Phenoms - everything we know
No details apart from the release date and card design have been confirmed by EA, but in their World Cup press release before the start of the World Cup, EA provided a line on the World Cup Phenoms promo. "Once the quarter-finals arrive, FIFA fans will be greeted by a new class of World Cup FUT Phenoms, uplifting the performances of some of football’s brightest stars."
Again, based on what EA said, this promo could be based on the best young players of the tournament, but nothing is confirmed as of yet. The press release also confirmed that we will be getting a Team of the Tournament promo after the Phenoms promo.
"Finally, as the World Cup comes to a close, FIFA 23 will celebrate the best performing players from throughout the journey, crowning them members of the Team of the Tournament and awarding them with permanently boosted items."
